The following are links to sites also dealing with the Great Central Railway. The railway is now reasonably well served on the web !

The Great Central Railway   Britain's only double track main line steam railway. Own and operate the line from Birstall to Loughborough. The only place to go to see a glimpse of the Great Central the way Sir Edward Watkins intended ! (I'm biased - I work on the S&T department ;-))
The Main Line Steam Trust   The support body for both the Great Central Railway and the Great Central Railway (North).
Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre   The Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre site includes links to the homepage of the Great Central Railway (North) who own and operate the preserved line from Lougborough to Ruddington.
Great Central Railway Society   Historical society concerned with the Great Central Railway.
Great Central Railway (Link) Ltd.   Website of the project team who are working to link the GCR and the GCR(N). "More power to their arm", I say. This is the way ahead.
Nottingham Victoria Station Website   Website run by Nick Willis who works in the S&T Department of the GCR(N). Nick is working on a recreation of part of the line for MS Train Simulator.
Great Central Railway Through Leicester   An excellent site from Nigel Tout showing the state of the line through Leciester, also contains some extremely interesting photographs of the Great Central in the last days of the line. Nigels site partly inspired me to create this one.
Great Central Lines   A large collection of photographs by Tony Newman of the line in the 1950's and 1960's. Includes scans of a number of documents, handbills, timetables etc. relating to the line.
The Last Main Line   A site by Leicester County Council which will contain a wealth of images concerning the Great Centrals London Extension, including the unique "Newton Collection" detailing the construction of the line.
Great Central Yahoo Group   Yahoo email/web discussion group for general discussion and notices concerning the Great Central Railway.
GCRS Forum Yahoo Group   Yahoo email/web discussion group of the the GCR Society.
Going Loco !   John Neave's site includes pictures of the line from the 1960's and today.
Leicestershire Museums GCR Site   When complete, this site should be *the* definitive reference site for the Great Central Railway. It will encompass a wealth of material, including the entire "Newton Collection" of photographs relating to the construction of the London Extension. Definitely one to watch !
Leicester Records Office   Home of the Newton Collection and numerous documents and items relating to the line. Well worth a visit.
Serco Rail Services   Serco Rail Services have a number of items of rolling stock - including EMUs, DMUs and carriages - available for sale to the preservation industry. Stop them and buy one !
