Bridge 407
SP 5570 9334- Height 12'3", Straight Span 25'8", Skew Span 42'0"
Bridge 407 is a brick built three arch skewed bridge, which carries the A426 Lutterworth Road over the line. Quite an attractive structure and in reasonably good condition. However, the southern parapet over the up line has been pushed out of true by a tree which has grown up from the roadway. The northern parapet seems to have been rebuilt quite recently - the mortar is a much lighter shade, and the capping stones do not sit quite right. Immediately south of this bridge, the cutting has been completely infilled. A nearby sign proclaims this to be the "SITA Cosby Hill Landfill Site". The topsoil over the landfill has been neatly levelled off. This landfill continues to Bridge 409 where it peters out. Bridge 408 has been completely buried.
